Four Teen Girls In Brazil Dug A Grave For A Love Rival And Then Filmed The Four-Hour-Long Torture

Nearly every teenager in the world seems to have a smartphone, and they’re not shy about filming themselves. What police found on one teenager’s phone was horrifying, though. In fact, the film that they had made documented a shocking example of just how vicious human beings can be.

Teenagers can often be cruel to one other. But what four teenagers did to a girl in Trindade, Brazil, went far beyond mere cruelty. What they did to her was nothing less than monstrous.

It all began when the girl was invited to what she was told was a party. She traveled to one of her friends’ homes to meet up with them. In reality, though, this would be no pleasant social occasion – instead the girl would be subject to a horrifying ordeal.

Trindade, Brazil, is hardly a place where you would expect a terrible crime to take place. In fact, it’s one of the most important sites of pilgrimage in the country. Over the course of a 15-day festival – beginning on the first Sunday of July – it attracts close to a million visitors each year.

However, a darker side to Trindade was revealed to the entire world on that fateful afternoon. And one girl was about to find out firsthand just what her friends were capable of. We can only imagine her horror when she began to realize what was happening.

The girl arrived to find that her four “friends” had been waiting for her in the garden. The teens grabbed her and tied her hands and feet together. This meant that she couldn’t escape what was to come.

She was dragged to the back of the garden, where the teens had already dug a shallow grave. The girls then began assaulting her. For four hours they attacked her with a wooden stick and a machete.

The victim’s description of the events is harrowing. “They tied me up and showed me where I was going to be buried,” she said, according to the Daily Mail. “Then they stabbed me and put me in the hole in the ground. I thought I was going to die there.”

They might have been brutal sadists, but it turned out that the girls weren’t not too smart. One of the attackers filmed the assault on her phone. As a result, the police were later able to retrieve video evidence of the entire episode.

The bound victim, sitting in a grave, must have thought that she was about to die. Fortunately, the attackers momentarily left her alone – in fact, to go and wash away the blood that covered their hands. Subsequently, the girl was able to get away and sought help.

These girls were far from strangers, however. The victim and all four of her attackers attended the same school. In fact, one of the torturers – still in their mid-teen years – had known the victim for a decade.

It’s believed that the teenagers were in fact driven by simple jealousy. The girl had allegedly been spending time with the boyfriend of one of her attackers. “The youngsters we arrested said the victim started seeing that boy. Jealousy is the main motive behind what happened,” the police chief overseeing the case said, according to the Daily Mail.

During the course of the investigation it was said that the teenagers felt little remorse for their actions. In fact, one of the suspects said that she was “annoyed” that their victim had gotten away. She confessed that she believed that their plan had failed because the girls had been “slack.”

Given the brutality of the crime, the trial would be a difficult one. The judge on the case, Karine Spinelli, quoted in The Sun, said, “The whole thing is terrifying. I don’t think I’ve ever come across a situation like this.”

As a result, the teenagers were remanded in custody while a full judicial investigation was carried out – they faced charges of torture and attempted homicide. However, due to their ages they would likely face terms in a young offenders’ institution rather than a prison.

However, being held in custody may well have been for the girls’ own good. The public were horrified by the incident, and the teens received numerous death threats after they were arrested. Had they been released, they would have been in serious danger.

This isn’t the first time that teenagers have committed atrocities, though. In the U.K. in 2017, two teens conspired to murder two people in their own home – and a teenage relationship was at the heart of the story.

Kim Edwards, aged 14, murdered her mother and younger sister with the help of her boyfriend, who was the same age as her. The boy, Lucas Markham, had been seen as a bad influence by Kim’s mother. After she attempted to intervene in their “toxic” relationship, the pair decided to kill her. They proceeded to do so, stabbing Kim’s mom and younger sister to death in their beds.

Both cases, in the U.K and in Brazil, showed the emotions of teen relationships at their very darkest. Indeed, the perpetrators of these crimes were driven by intense feelings of rage and jealousy. And in both cases, those responsible showed little remorse for their actions.

Indeed these stories illustrate human nature at its very worst. The four girls in Brazil were so driven by envy that they were willing to commit some of the worst crimes imaginable. In fact their poor victim was lucky to escape with her life – but she may never be the same again.
