Jon Bon Jovi Has Just Slammed The Kardashians – And The Reason For His Outburst Is Savage

People across the world have long debated the merits of reality television, and the stars subsequently created in its wake. Rock superstar Jon Bon Jovi added his voice to the discussion in October 2018, offering a fiery opinion. However, he had incredibly brutal reasons for his angry outburst.

Born in March 1962 under the name John Francis Bongiovi Jr., the future rock and roll star grew up in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. As a teenager, he had aspirations of getting into music, playing on stages in clubs at just 16 years old. However, in 1980 he got his big break.

Indeed, Bongiovi recorded his very first single at that time, which spurred him on to form a band. Three years later, the record label PolyGram signed the band after a performance in New York. At that point, Derek Shulman, one of the record executives at the label, suggested the name change to Jon Bon Jovi.

With the band adopting his new last name as their own, Bon Jovi went on to enjoy huge success in the 1980s, producing several classic rock tracks. However, as the years progressed, the New Jersey native needed to face down some personally painful issues.

Indeed, after Slippery When Wet, the band’s third album, came out, Bon Jovi suffered a breakdown. Due to an incredibly lengthy tour schedule, he was left tired out by all the work. And such was his condition at the time, the singer also harbored thoughts of suicide.

Bon Jovi eventually recovered, though, and he then went on to cement his legacy in rock as both a solo star and the band’s lead singer. However, the 56-year-old’s talents stretched beyond the music industry as well, as he tried his hand at acting.

After providing the film’s signature music track, Bon Jovi was given a cameo role in Young Guns II: Blaze of Glory back in 1990. From there, he appeared in the hit TV show Ally McBeal, while also starring in movies such as U-571 and Vampires: Los Muertos.

With that in mind, Bon Jovi may well have had to work incredibly hard throughout the years to earn success. So, on that note, he offered a stinging assessment of reality television when asked about it in an interview. However, few could’ve predicted just how strong his words turned out to be.

“I think it’s horrific that we live in that world,” Bon Jovi said on the Australian TV program The Sunday Project in October 2018. “And I can tell you I’ve never given 60 seconds of my life, ever, to one of those Housewives of Blah Blah and Kardashians.” The rock star didn’t stop there, though.

“I don’t know their names,” Bon Jovi continued. “I’ve never watched 60 seconds of the show, it’s not for me.” On that note, the 56-year-old then narrowed his focus on Kim Kardashian, one of the stars of the E! network smash hit Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

In March 2007, Vivid Entertainment, an American production company specializing in pornography, released a sex tape of Kardashian and her former boyfriend Ray J. The footage came from a camcorder that the pair had taken with them on a vacation to Mexico five years earlier. Much like the case of Paris Hilton in 2004, though, the tape changed her life forever.

Due to its incredible popularity online, Kardashian became a star, with the video attracting in excess of 150 million views since being published. A few months after that, she earned a starring role in her family’s new reality show, which is now up to its 15th season on E!

With that in mind, Bon Jovi blasted Kardashian’s rise in the entertainment industry, looking back at the sex tape in particular. “What’s gonna be in your autobiography?” he asked The Sunday Project. “‘I made a porno and guess what, I got famous.’ F***, sorry, I’ll pass.”

The rock legend wasn’t finished, though, as he also suggested some alternative ways for Kardashian to maintain her fame. “Go and write a book,” Bon Jovi added. “Paint a painting, act, study, sing, play write. Fame is a byproduct of writing a good song.”

While the 56-year-old’s feelings about reality television were clear for all to see, he does have a history of sorts in the area. Indeed, back in 2015, Bon Jovi agreed to work on a reality show named If I Wasn’t a Rock Star. Despite his involvement, though, the program never made it to air.

As for Bon Jovi’s recent musical exploits, things took an unfortunate turn back in 2013. While on tour with the band, guitarist Richie Sambora suddenly left them, which hit the front-man hard. “There was a lot of darkness really,” he told U.K. newspaper the Daily Mirror in October 2016.

“I was going through a difficult period, and it felt like the weight of the world was on my shoulders,” Bon Jovi continued. “It was a very, very difficult time that I haven’t fully rebounded from yet but my wife has been phenomenal. Without her, I am not sure how I would have coped.”

From there, the 56-year-old then compared that period with his previous breakdown. “I am not ready to share it in full but it was not pretty,” Bon Jovi added. “But I am working towards it. It was similar to that period in retrospect. I found acting at that time which gave me a release. There was no release this time around, but there were just as much difficulties.”

Despite those tough times, though, Bon Jovi eventually bounced back, as he and the band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2018. However, during his lengthy speech, he reserved some special praise for his family. “To my kids, Stephanie, Jesse, Jacob and Romeo – you’re my greatest hits,” he said.

“You make me proud everyday,” Bon Jovi added. “I love you all.” As for the band, they’re on tour in Asia and Australia until the end of 2018, before starting the European leg in the spring of 2019. After his recent comments, though, the rock legend can probably scratch off seeing Kim Kardashian at one of those shows.
