It’s fair to say that Joaquin Phoenix provided several talking points at the 2020 Golden Globes. For one, there was his Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama award for Joker. Then there was his slightly bewildering acceptance speech. But perhaps none of these moments compared to Phoenix’s behavior on the red carpet with fiancée Rooney Mara – and how the star chose to act may have left many open-mouthed.

As fans know, though, Phoenix has had his fair share of Golden Globes glory in the past. He first bagged a prestigious award at the 2006 ceremony for his measured portrayal of country music legend Johnny Cash in biopic Walk the Line. The star has also earned Golden Globe nominations for his performances in Gladiator, The Master, Her and Inherent Vice.
